A great idea from the staff at City Hall
Thanks for getting this idea blog going Dahvi, great "idea"! At our weekly staff meeting another great idea surfaced. The City suggested a communication tool on Main St. Maybe it is a banner across the street when events are approaching (ie. Community Picnic, Winter Festival, 4th of July) or possibly an electronic sign board that can be updated regularly like the one in Driggs. Maybe it is even two electronic signs, one at each end of Main St when you enter town. Any thoughts?

I like the idea of the baners vs the electronic sign board!
I think it's a great idea too. Definitely something we should weave into our conversation about the gateway! Those kinds of banners really do create a gateway, and a sense of activity and vibrancy in town. I love it!
The banner's would be cool. Small town feel and presence - a bit of a throw back. It makes you feel welcome as well as providing information. The electronic signs not so much.
We need to get a cooperative fund going to get the snow blocking businesses and parking as well as side walks cleared. There is currently a huge difference between Driggs and Victor right now. We need to have a similar ease of access to Main Street in Victor that is enjoyed by Driggs businesses.
I think it's a great idea... but in some parts of town, the sidewalk issue will continue to be a problem until we can get the water lines buried deeper. Good news is that City Council is working hard on this, so hopefully, we can find a way to get this done! Eventually, it would be great to move the snow off of Main Street completely...
